Director Amanda Gerhardt

Parks & Recreation Director Amanda Gerhardt grew up in the area and graduated from Rockford High School in 1996. She went on to receive her BA from Hope College in Business Administration, her MA from Central Michigan University in Sports Administration, and also obtained her teaching certification from Aquinas College in secondary education. 

Other activities and achievements that Amanda has been involved in include internships with the West Michigan Whitecaps, Hope College Athletic Department, Central Michigan University Athletic Development, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.  Amanda is also an accomplished athlete who earned academic all-conference and was a conference track champion in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. While she competed for Hope, she served as the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and an athletic representative to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. She has interscholastic coaching experience with Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy, Cedar Springs High School, and is the current cross country and track coach at Greenville High School.

Amanda is a member of the Michigan Recreation and Parks Association, the West Michigan Recreation and Parks Association, the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association, and the Cedar Springs Rotary Club.

She and her husband, Scott, have been married since 2000,  have two sons, Zachary and Ethan. They enjoy sporting events, music, water and downhill skiing, and spending time together as a family. Amanda enjoys getting to know people in the community and offering them services. She hopes you will contact her with new ideas.
