City Manager Christine Burns came to Cedar Springs in May 2007 after serving in the Village of Oxford for nearly 2 years and the City of Clare for more than 14 years. Chris graduated from Central Michigan University with the BS in BA majoring in Management (1990) and earned her MSA in Public Administration from CMU in 2006. Fire Up Chips!Chris is a member of the Michigan Local Government Management Association (MLGMA), International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and holds a Certified Master Municipal Clerk designation; she has served as the President for the West MI Local Government Management Association, is on the Board of Directors for MLGMA and serves as a trustee for the Michigan Municipal League’s Workers Compensation Fund.
Chris and her husband, Bill, have been married for 21 years; they have 2 children (Bradley & Breanna). In their free time, they enjoy flying their private plane to various vacation destinations.
