Neil Gomez was born and raised in Muskegon, MI and is a graduate of Mona Shores High School class of 97. Neil has lived in Cedar Springs since November of 2004.
Neil is currently a Grand Rapids police officer and has been employed since January of 2000. Neil is currently in the community policing unit, is a Field Training Officer, CPR instructor and a child seat tech with Safekids. Neil also served 6 years in the Air National Guard serving from 1997-2003 with an honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant. Neil was activated to a little over a year after 9/11 and served in “Operation Enduring Freedom” and “Operation Noble Eagle”.
Neil has recently been elected in November to City Council and has served 4 years as a member of the planning commission.
Neil and his wife Katie have two wonderful children. Neil is excited to have the opportunity to serve his community and is looking forward to his first term on city council.
