Council Member Raymond Huckleberry has lived in Cedar Springs for most of his life, aside from the time he was attending college. He currently lives next door to the home where he was raised on the east end of Cherry Street. Raymond is a K-12 alumnus of Cedar Springs Public Schools and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Davenport University. He is a real estate agent, by trade, for Prudential Preferred since 2002 and owns Stein Brother’s Pizza with his wife.
Raymond has been interested in the political process from childhood. As a teenager, he campaigned for School Finance Reform on behalf of Cedar Springs on the steps of the State Capitol to a crowd of several thousand people. He has served on the DDA as a downtown business owner since 2005 and is the current co-chair of the Government Affairs Committee at the Grand Rapids Association of REALTORS. Raymond is very passionate about Cedar Springs and is the immediate past President of the local Rotary Club.
In 2007 he was elected to the City Council, and serves on the Planning Commission. He strives to be open to listen to any citizen or business owner who has any compliment, concern or idea for the City anywhere and anytime.
He and his wife, Laura, are the proud parents of three sons; Michael, John Paul and Sam.
