GVMC Transportation Technical Committee

The Federal Highway Act of 1973 mandated Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO’s) to provide a cooperative, comprehensive and continuing transportation planning and decision making process. The Grand Valley Metropolitan Council (GVMC) is the designated MPO for the greater Grand Rapids area and is charged with the responsibility of carrying out all transportation related planning activities in the area.

GVMC’s Transportation Technical Committee is responsible for transportation planning and programming for its member communities. Cedar Springs’s representative to the committee is City Engineer Mike Berrevoets.  The alternate is City Manager Christine Burns.
