The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is providing more than $845 million to states to help low-income households with their home energy costs. Under the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, low-income households, including families with children and seniors, can get help paying for their home energy needs such as winter heating, summer cooling and home insulating to reduce energy costs.
